CHRISTMAS MEANS YOU CAN TRUST GOD!

Monday, December 23, 2013

I'm not a theologian. I am going to do the best I can to quote a service.
I just hear recently, from my pastor, Mark Freer.
Forgive me if I bundle it. I couldn't write as fast as he talked, but I do hope I did it justice.
And that you get the just of it's meaning.
" People have taken the meaning out of Christmas, and made it too easy, and too cheap.

CHRISTMAS MEANS YOU CAN TRUST GOD!

How is this possible, some would say? This is made possible by these three things:
1. Jesus is the Word.
#1.Jesus is the word: This is who you are as a person. people are revealed by their words, when they speak. if you never spoke, people wouldn't know you. Some people when they speak aren't the brightest bulb in the package, while others are brilliant. to know God is to know Jesus. It takes Jesus. Jesus said to Phil. " have I been with you so long, you don't know me! You can't know God without knowing Jesus.

Many people want an air tight argument to prove or disprove if Jesus was God. Christians know the proofs aren't a slam dunk idea. Yet rationalist & atheists want something that is air tight. People are intolerant of others belief. Yet Christians are tolerant if they believe in the Bible. C.S.Lewis said, either Jesus is a lunatic (fried egg), or a charlatan. Or he is who he said, the God, the Son." Jesus is the lodging of God. This isn't slam dunk logic, but a person in Jesus Christ.

2. He was made Flesh
#2.When we talk about Jesus is the word. what we are saying is that he is the word. Truth made into flesh. God came down to the ghetto, called Earth. He became soft, vulnerable, & killable. By making himself as other humans, having a body that could be killed. And died as flesh, as a human. So, he became merciful & made propitiation for the sins of the people. God came down in human from. He felt human stress, be trail, torture, hunger, injustice, being broke, lonely, facing death.

X Mas tells us when Jesus heard our cries he came down, made himself vulnerable, knew it would cost his flesh. It was his purpose to die for you & me. Heb.2:14-18 Draws out the word & meaning of flesh. He became like his brothers

X Mas means Jesus the wonderful counselor. So, he understands me, because he has suffered like you, but more. 3. He dwelt among us he has been abandon by God, knows your problems, go to him with anything. He has been there, faced everything, knows what you are going thru.

3. He Dwelt among us
#3. In John1-16, he chose the words Flesh & Tabernacle among us. Tabernacle is a Greek word, that means dwell. He Dwelt among us in his glory. Moses said, "he want to see God's glory." God said, "no, it'll kill you." Then he briefly instructed Moses to build the tabernacle. There Moses wouldn't be killed because of the veil! Pretty amazing stuff! Moses wanted to see what he couldn't see. Yet John says something different. Now Jesus who Dwelt among us, the tabernacle will be torn down & rebuilt in 3 days.

Jesus was the end of religion as we know it. You won't find that in any other religion.
And Jesus is the tabernacle. He is the lodging of God. Jesus is our temple& our tabernacle. Jesus is our priest. Heb.10- Christian don't do sacrifices anymore. Jesus is our sacrifice. Others would feel that without a building, without flesh sacrifices this is no kind of religion at all. All other religions say you must do this & this to be excepted into their religion. In Christianity, they say, "except Christ' death on the cross, & live like he wants you to. Believe in Christ, and here's what things you need to do." In order to go to Heaven you must realize you've been excepted in Christ, into his family & live. Jesus is the end of all tabernacles. he don't get religion, but a person. God saved and found religion. Will I ever know for sure about salvation of sin before I die? You die. How possible is it to behold the glory? Moses dis not see, how the glory closed between us & God. A Gap opened up between evil & life became ineffective. There was action needed. Why do we feel the gap? Because of the injustice of good & evil. We understand the gap between us & God. something had to happen. Just can't come into the presence of God. So he made the Word Flesh. It became venerable, killable, to close the gap between God and Man/ humanity. No one else could accomplish this but Jesus! Jesus died on the cross, closed the gap. he could now come into your life. Life's glory came into us. God's plan to make people like his son will never happened in this life. When you die & are resurrected then you will be like him. What a promise!

Glory becomes the baby symbolically during X Mas. In the old testament God was the pillar of fire. this is why people were afraid of him. now he has transcended, become accessible as a bay who is safe & embraceable.

If everything is true, there is no half way measures in following Jesus. Jesus is the Word, the Word is God. Claiming all thru the gospels Jesus will judge the world, only God. Only God forgive sin. Jesus isn't one more profit! Jesus is God. Who all profits point to. Either your personal claim is wicked or you believe & put your whole life before him! this is not saying show up for the holidays to church, put money in the bucket! No he is not saying this. its just you can't go half way. he is not your home boy! All or nothing. He is your counselor. if you need help, go to him, go to God! What ever ails you, Jesus has the medicine to heal you.

During X Mas, the real becomes the ideal. If you believe in X Mas, the Word becomes real. To believe, the ideal transforms you into his likeness. Wow! That was heavy/ powerful. 'No," you say. "That I'll never change,no he's not changing you!"

Let go of religion! And let Christ into your life! You can trust him! love that song," WHAT IF GOD WERE ONE OF US!" That's what X Mas IS. God left Heaven, to go down to the Ghetto of Earth. You can absolutely trust him. God can change you, where it started.
TRUST GOD FOR EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE! BECAUSE HE BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU AND WILL FINISH!

Pray for families & friends, but lets trust him. You can't change another person, just trust him! "
FATHER GOD help those to share the Good News, and manifest in them, and help us to trust you, for your works in us, your trust works, o stir up faith, so they'll put their confidence in you fully!
AMEN.

Boy that was powerful, I hope I did it justice.

Additional comments from my blogger:
This is the story of how the old law became to church, the bride of Christ. Jesus took away the veil and now he is our way to the Father. The points your pastor outlined are so true. it is the revelation that God is faithful to His promise. What he had begun in the life of Abraham, the Father of faith, He gave to the world the very seed that He had promised, Jesus Christ God's only begotten Son. John 3:16 sums it up perfectly, " For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life."It is good news we share with the world. The price has been paid and forgiveness is offered, but we must believe and receive.
the Gospel message is the power of God unto salvation.

EVA, THIS IS A WONDERFUL SERMON YOUR PASTOR GAVE. I WAS JUST TELLING SOMEONE THIS MORNING HOW I PRAYED ABOUT MATTHEW 6 VERSES 25-27 AND ENDED THE CONVERSATION WITH A QUOTE FROM THE POEM FOOTPRINTS. "WHEN YOU SEE ONLY ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS, IT WAS I THAT WAS CARRYING YOU" I LOVE THAT POEM. THAT IS TRUE. THE LORD WAS CARRYING ME ALL WEEK AND I FELT SO ALONE. AND LAST NIGHT I PRAYED AND THE ANSWER CAME THIS MORNING. SO, YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME ALOT OF PEACE WHILE READING THIS...........AND I WANT TO THANK YOU............YOUR FRIEND..........LYNN

Eva, you have told the story of how the old law became to church, the bride of Christ. Jesus took away the veil and now he is our way to the Father. What a beautiful blog. Totally true. God bless you, my dear dear friend. You have a definite gift for telling the love of God, the Father and the love of Jesus our Savior. Like I said before, earlier, I think I will keep you around. (You are special! I truly mean that!) Judi. Merry Christmas. emoticon emoticon

Eva, thanks for sharing this deep and meaningful message. I will be honest, I am bad about not allowing my mind to wrap around the deep philisophical messages found in the Bible. I prefer allowing someone to read it and transcribe it for me in a more current context. I feel guilty that I like to study for my job but I have not taken the necessary time to devout to reading the word of God. You are great to offer more clarity to the "Reason for this important season". We often get so caught up in the busy tasks and materialism that we fail to remember what it is all about. I need to be more willing to let go of my control and just let God do his work in my life. emoticon emoticon

Bless you for making it easy for me to read this information and giving me a reminder of how I can be a better Christian. emoticon We can show our love by demonstrating the word of God to others! emoticon emoticon emoticon

The points your pastor outlined are so true. What I love about the Christmas story is it is the revelation that God is faithful to His promise. What he had begun in the life of Abraham, the Father of faith, He gave to the world the very seed that He had promised, Jesus Christ God's only begotten Son.
What wonderful words the angels cried out that day to the shepherds watching their sheep, " Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill toward men!"
(Luke 2:14)
John 3:16 sums it up perfectly, " For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life."
It is good news we share with the world. The price has been paid and forgiveness is offered, but we must believe and receive.
I am so thankful for the Gospel message for it is the power of God unto salvation. God's word will not go void, but it will accomplish that which he sent it forth to do.
We serve a mighty God.

Words have a way of NOT doing justice to the message of Peace and Love. They can't. They are symbols of symbols and therefore twice removed from reality.

However, this doesn't mean you didn't convey the message.
