Up Date On Daughter!

Monday, December 23, 2013

Let me first wish anyone reading this, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!!

My husband and I have been very busy. With the illness of our daughter she has become a priority. We try and make sure one of us, if not both of us, are with her on all her doctor's appointments and any treatments that she is having. Nicole has been off of chemo since May but since the end of August has been unwell. October she began going to clinic for IV fluids and medications three times a week.

After a family discussion Nicole made the decision and she fired her oncologist doctor and pain management team. We have just not been happy by the treatment and care that Nicole has been getting. Any way the new doctor is younger and more open minded he made some changes to Nicole's medication and ordered some new tests on the very first visit. Well we have the results of the tests and things have taken a bit of a turn. I am so sorry to write this news and I can't write this more than once.

We have always known from the beginning that she had terminal cancer, so no surprise there. The downer is she is now stage 4. Nicole has more tumors in both lungs and chest cavity, lymph nodes included. They also found many spots on her liver and also her adrenal glands.

The new doc has not let any time go by since his first meeting with Nicole. This whole week she has doctor appointments except Wednesday. Nic is now going to be doing chemo and radiation. Before she did chemo and got a couple of months off without treatments so we hope this new regime will give her some more time and perhaps shrink the tumors so her pain is better! Nicole faces a very tough schedule of treatments over the next coming weeks perhaps months. I will keep you folks up to date.

Nicole is looking forward to Christmas and having the kids home so I think I can bet they are going to have a good time and make some lovely family memories.

We all wish you love and health.

Have a great Christmas because we sure are going too!

Happy New Year, may 2014 bring all that you need, with just a dash of all that you would like!!! LOL

I am sorry for this awful cancer in Nicole. My beloved brother on my spark page in his car has stage 4 cancer, he has a port in him for chemo at home, then every Tuesday he goes for an infusion plus the chemo pills. His white count was so low, he changed his diet so drastically he eats raw & juices all his fresh vegetables & fruits bread nothing that has any trace of wheat in it , or white four , or sugar, his count is way up. His Stanford University Doctors are amazed they sad he is the best stage 4 cancer patient they ever had .it is also with the prayers & the diet. Read the book Wheat Belly I will never ever eat wheat again in any form, I never new it was chemically redone since the forties to feed the people of the world. I eat Ezekiel bread it is made of no flour only sprouts I buy it at the health food store Then another book that has tremendously helped Bobby is Dying To Be Me
Bobby said he feels so much better without the wheat products plus he had soars and blisters all the way down his throat and stomach because of the chemo but now he only has a few because of the diet change
Our grand father died of colon cancer,Doctor always said get tested every 10 years ,he did always, Last February he was found with a fist size cancer in colon, Dr. ask why he did not get checked he told Dr. he did every 10 years this Dr . said no every 5 years when in the family we were never told that, Dr. told him to get that big it was growing for a long times it went into his lymphatic system, tumors on liver, spleen ,stomach they could see 50 ,We are praying the PET scan Jan 23 rd will show shrinking of them or disappeared,we have hope,I work in a pharmacy I have seen miracles in the 24 years I have worked in Pharmacy feel less bloated myself by staying away from wheat products they disguise them in different names also, my spaghetti s made from rice, I do not feel bloated after eating it like I do regular spaghetti . it looks just like the regular spaghetti I use to eat, I buy it at the health food store and Wegman's carries it also.I will be praying for Nicole also, bobby lives in California and we ( family ) in Pa. it is hard to be far away.
Take care
Judy
