Let me first wish anyone reading this, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!!
My husband and I have been very busy. With the illness of our daughter she has become a priority. We try and make sure one of us, if not both of us, are with her on all her doctor's appointments and any treatments that she is having. Nicole has been off of chemo since May but since the end of August has been unwell. October she began going to clinic for IV fluids and medications three times a week.
After a family discussion Nicole made the decision and she fired her oncologist doctor and pain management team. We have just not been happy by the treatment and care that Nicole has been getting. Any way the new doctor is younger and more open minded he made some changes to Nicole's medication and ordered some new tests on the very first visit. Well we have the results of the tests and things have taken a bit of a turn. I am so sorry to write this news and I can't write this more than once.
We have always known from the beginning that she had terminal cancer, so no surprise there. The downer is she is now stage 4. Nicole has more tumors in both lungs and chest cavity, lymph nodes included. They also found many spots on her liver and also her adrenal glands.
The new doc has not let any time go by since his first meeting with Nicole. This whole week she has doctor appointments except Wednesday. Nic is now going to be doing chemo and radiation. Before she did chemo and got a couple of months off without treatments so we hope this new regime will give her some more time and perhaps shrink the tumors so her pain is better! Nicole faces a very tough schedule of treatments over the next coming weeks perhaps months. I will keep you folks up to date.
Nicole is looking forward to Christmas and having the kids home so I think I can bet they are going to have a good time and make some lovely family memories.
We all wish you love and health.
Have a great Christmas because we sure are going too!
Happy New Year, may 2014 bring all that you need, with just a dash of all that you would like!!! LOL
