So, yesterday I had my graduation ceremony for my Master's degree. I am extremely proud (and although I have a few edits on one final paper to make), it has been a long journey, but I am glad to be able to begin a new chapter.
Yesterday, as per usual with my family, the celebration included eating a LOT of unhealthy food. It was one day though, and I decided not to worry about it. I did eat sushi, and egg rolls, and a petit fors, and cookies, and a greek salad, but all in all I am not going to beat myself up because I knew I'd try harder today.
I did join a gym! I joined a week or so ago. I like it, but with the time of year and the cold weather the group classes are getting cancelled a lot, and the gym is closed several days for the holidays. Oh well though, I'll just have to find other ways to work out during those days.
I am eating better today, but I can definitely feel I have a lot of water weight from all the sodium I had yesterday. I am trying to eat lots of fruits/veggies and just get back on track today.
I have decided I am going to try and do some mini-goals. I have a goal of being under 200lbs by my 25th birthday (May 2nd). So far I have lost 15-ish pounds (depending on the day). I'm at or around 245 right now. So to help keep me on track, I am going to start giving myself a daily mini-goal, and if I accomplish it...I am going to save a dollar for my birthday present. What is my birthday present? Some Jimmy Choo pumps! Sure, saving a dollar a day won't get me all the way to paying for those pumps, but I figure if I save some now it will make the overall cost a little more reasonable when I hit that under 200lb mark.
Anyways so here are some of my upcoming goals:
Today (12/22) - don't eat after 8pm (I am super bad at snacking until 10-11pm)
12/23 - do strength training
12/24 - workout even though the gym is closed
12/25 - drink 60+ oz of water (and don't worry about eating right, it's Christmas!)
12/26 - don't weigh yourself, and eat fruits/veggies with every meal
12/27 - do strength training
Well, hopefully that'll help keep me focused on each of those days.
