Day 266 - Eliminating That S.T.R.E.S.S.!!!

Sunday, December 22, 2013

It been 3 weeks that I started full time in my new position. It has a tremendous amount of responsibilities and with all new jobs, it can be stressful. My director increased the stress by not supporting me or teaching me what I need to know. He basically told me I am on my own to figure it out. He also screwed up my staff schedule and if there is no coverage for these shifts, then it falls on me to work those shifts on top of my other duties. He is going on a 2 week vacation very soon and hopefully he found coverage...I have two group homes that need to be staffed 24/7. However, this particular group home is closing down for a week, yay!

I did have to work at the other group home, no fault of the director... The house manager had two recent deaths in her family so I covered her shift. I actually got all caught up in the paperwork! It took me over 5 hours!!! Plus, I created accurately January's staff schedule! I finally feel accomplished and the stress is being alleviated by little increments. Yay!!!

I still have lots to learn and I do have 2 overdue IPs to I have multiple psychiatric, Dr., Dental, vision, etc... appointments to schedule. Whew! The psychiatric is the most important and 6 of my 9 clients need to see their psychiatrist within the next 2.5 months!

I am now starting to see the impact I am making and feeling less stress. I am now able to start concentrating on me again with exercising and eating right. I actually jogged 2 miles on the treadmill and recorded my lowest weight since joining. It was a 0.2 lb loss, but I will take it!

Hopefully I can become more active once again on this site!!!!
