Virtual Walk Update, December 21:

Saturday, December 21, 2013

This week I walked on the treadmill all 7 days, for a total of 30 miles! emoticon
I am very proud of myself, considering that it's the week before Christmas

I have passed Taunton, and am near Bridgwater, near the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal. The area is mainly agricultural, and there seem to be irrigation canals everywhere.

I've walked 203.60 miles since starting this virtual walk, about 20% of the total walk, and I've set a goal of completing the walk by August 1, 2014.

By the new year, or certainly during the first week of January, I will reach Bath. I first visited Bath in 1992, and love the city.

For years I've told people that walking and swimming are the only kinds of exercise that I enjoy, and I guess this virtual walk proves that statement to be at least half true.

The walking is also making it easier for me to keep on track, food-wise. I'm honestly not finding it difficult to stay within my calorie range, even with the extra treats that are around.

Possibly this is because I'm not sitting around as much, and therefore not thinking about food.

Whatever the reason, i'm looking forward to getting weighed on Monday morning.

The old 'dreadmill's" getting a workout here too, now that it's too miserable outside. I walk through an Oprah rerun everyday... emoticon emoticon
