Christmas in Blue Ridge Georgia

Saturday, December 21, 2013

I finally went into the town of Blue Ridge yesterday, hoping to find a beautifully decorated tree to sit beside and take pictures of me with my doggies. I couldn't find a tree. Oddest thing ever. Everywhere I have ever lived there is a tree in the center of town. Just hoping that maybe I missed it? There was the train however; it goes from Blue Ridge into Tennessee, just an hour or so train ride, and back. It was huffing and puffing, getting ready for another adventure out of Blue Ridge. So I asked a lady who was taking photos of her kids in front of it if she would take a photo of me with Toby and Tessa. Thank goodness for cropping features because it was the worst taken photo I have seen in a long time, lol, but she was sweet to take them for me. I also took a couple of pictures of the train. I will post them in my picture album, but here is one of me and the dogs. If the weather holds up (already it's raining this morning!), I will head into the town of Ellijay and see what they have for decorations!

Blue Ridge is such a fun town, and we have taken our grandson on the train ride, but I haven't been up there during Christmas. I live a little farther south in Ball Ground.

Your picture is lovely - and the dogs are adorable.
Congratulations on your weight loss so far!

Merry Christmas!

We don't have a tree in the center of our town or the next 2 towns. One family did create a triangle tree out of lights, it is really big and really pretty. I don't know how they got it that big, but it really looks pretty cool. I can't remember our town ever having a lighting of a Christmas tree. Strange. I hope you find a really pretty one. The train is cool. I love trains.

P.S. I hope you enjoy your trip to Ellijay and please don't tell me the tree in the center of town is not there! Next year plan on coming down in October for the Scarecrow Invasion - absolutely awesome - hundreds of scarecrows all over town dressed in more ways than you could imagine.

Gosh, Blue Ridge always had a tree downtown. It was in the middle of the grassy strip down from the train where the art shows are usually set up. It seems like I remember a covered area where Santa sat for picture taking that we did with our granddaughter one year.
