"Official Better Sleep Challenge" - WEEK 1

(I WAS ORIGINALLY DOING THESE SEPARATELY IN THEIR OWN BLOG EACH NIGHT, BUT THAT STARTED CLOGGING MY BLOGS! SO i MOVED THEM ALL TO THIS ONE. I THINK THIS PART OF THE CHALLENGE IS OVER NOW ANYWAY. I HAVE TO GO OVER MY SP AND BODYMEDIA ACCOUNTS AND GET THE INFO TO FILL OUT THE LAST FEW NIGHTS. BUT THEN ON TO STEP 2 OF THE CHALLENGE :)

I joined a sleep challenge, and I am supposed to journal each morning and evening about my habits. I probably won't do that on SP every day because I don't always have access to a computer. But for now I do, so here goes.... (UPDATE: MY SISTER GAVE ME HER LAPTOP AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT! I CAN NOW BE MUCH MORE ACTIVE ON HERE!) WOOT! I'm referring to "yesterday" as 12/19/13 and "today" as 12/20/13, because I have yet to go to sleep (due to lack of sleep meds) on 12/20/13.

What, if any, was your bedtime routine? None. Just watched TV til I passed out.

Did you exercise today? (Include the type, duration, and time of day if you exercised.) I didn't do an exercise routine, but I had 10 exercise minutes tracked from bodymedia.

Did you consume any caffeinated drinks or foods today? (Include type, number, and time of day.) No.

Did you take any medications (prescription and/or over-the-counter) today? (Include type, amount, and time of day.) Yes, my regular medication, around 11pm.

I went an entire night with no sleep because I had forgotten my sleeping pills, so days 1 and 2 are not back to back. I have a sleep study appointment on January 7th. It's not the actual sleep study, but just an hour long consultation before they do the actual study. So, hopefully I can figure out why I get very little quality sleep. Even less than I thought, which is what I learned after using my bodymedia link armband. Anyway, here's the standard daily/nightly questions. I'll log back on when I'm up tomorrow to answer the second set of questions. :)

What, if any, was your bedtime routine? Watched TV til I passed out

What types of stressors did you encounter today, and what types do you expect to encounter tomorrow? Yes, about an hour. Stressors today, none. Stressors tomorrow, going to hometown for Christmas.

Forgot to blog these days, so getting what I can from a combo of memory, sparkpeople trackers & bodymedia sleep tracker.

What, if any, was your bedtime routine? Tried to go to bed Tried using music and/or boring TV, just couldn't fall asleep.
