Relaxed day

Friday, December 20, 2013

Cooper does NOT like this cold rain we have had all day, so his walks have been short. Instead I have been pacing at least 10 minutes every hour in my apartment. It is not very entertaining, but it keeps me active. Snow shoeing tomorrow is canceled, which is no big surprise. Too bad we didn't go last weekend, when there was plenty of snow!

I made a quick run to the library. My last trip there before Christmas. I love the library! Of course I have read a lot of the fiction they have at our small local library. That is one reason I buy books. I like to reread books. If they were good enough that I finished reading them the first time, then I will probably read it again... and again... and again.

Sometimes it is difficult to balance all the reading I want to do with all the exercise I want to do. My niece claims she can safely read and walk at the same time, but I know I would trip over my own feet if I tried that. I have tried audiobooks, but I have trouble paying attention and get lost.

The audiobooks don't appeal to me and the only cardio machine so far that I can read on is the elliptical. I've not actually tried on the stairstepper. I can't read on the treadmill.

I can't do anything else when I am reading. So I make my reading time very special. I have my "reading area" all set up with my Kindle, the perfect light, comfy place to read, my favorite afghan close by, and Winnie by my feet. Doesn't have to get any better than that!! emoticon

When I listen to audio books, I often back up and listen to parts of it again.

It was interesting what you wrote about looking for the owls. I never heard of that before. Snow shoeing is so quite and after a few steps I feel I am floating.

I can't read and walk either. I have learned to listen and walk. Took some practice but I've got it down now.

sorry about the rain, hope it gets better soon.
