We live in a very small rural town and yes we are rednecks. Well one year in December my husband and I were taking our kids to see Santa. We passed by a house and my husband said, “Leon” what is that suppose to mean?” I looked at the house and in the yard were big wooden letters that spelled LEON. I thought for a second and said, “It’s NOEL spelled backwards. I guess someone named Leon lives there”. LEON stayed up until a few days before Christmas and then LEON turned into NOEL. Well every year at Christmas we all look forward to seeing LEON and anxiously await the days until LEON becomes NOEL.

We also look forward to seeing the yard with the 470,000 lights displayed in a bunch of different homemade Christmas scenes. Every night there is a long parade of cars coming and going from the street with the massive Christmas display.
But this year, the Fire Department didn’t put out their Four Wheeler pulled by the stuffed deer heads. Oh well, you can’t have it all.
Hope you have a Joyous Leon…oops I mean Noel.

I don't think of anyone that way. I think if had I been born where you are, I'd be the same way. yes, I am a city girl who wished she had been more real with her spirit. Had moved to a small town, and did her canning, and fishing, and made pies for all the towns folks. I love real people, and I think you are very nice to meet. I am sending you my stories of rural life in America as I know it, and my joke about this snow. I hope you enjoy both of them. I hope we become friends also. eva emoticon
