I've hated running all my life. No--that's not right. I love running, but it feels like death after a few seconds. Over the last 15 years, I've felt a draw to running, but I haven't been able to run more than a hundred yards. More recently, I've found myself running more than that while being silly with the kids. Much to my amazement, it didn't hurt, and I was in flip flops. I've also run much longer distances in the past when I was distracted by friends. Obviously the mental component is greater than I realized.
I've decided I can do this. I can ease my body into running. I've set a tough-but-doable goal: I'm going to run a mile by 3/15/14.
