Bright Sunny morning.

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Thought I would share this with you and send some sunshine to those of you who are in a deep chill. Watching the weather report I see lots of chill and snow. I went on line and looked as cams showing the area where we were in Pennsylvania, West Chester and saw plenty of snow. It sure is beautiful and makes you in the spirit for a White Christmas. I used to always wish for a white Christmas. Now I am just fine with a bright sunny Christmas.

I am happy today as I will get back into my routine of getting a facial every Thursday. I have missed my gal who has become a dear friend. I also have got to get busy and make my final decisions on what side dishes to have with our ham and then make my list and shop. It will be nice to get my FIL out of the place where he is and bring him up to our house.

Hope you all are doing well and enjoying this holiday season.
Cheers!
Sallie

Oh and the scale had me up a pound today after eating out yesterday....but I was a bit bad and indulged last night in some yummy gluten free chips as we watched the last shows of Homeland Season 3. Wow, love that show. And I very rarely snack at all. But those darn chips kept calling my name. I am starting to think that I just shouldn't keep them in the house. Nothing really good comes from them. And they kind of bug me when they are in the house even though for the most part I can pass on them. So not going to buy anymore! I also have some gluten free yummy cookies that I bought back when I was in Seattle in September and they continue to call my name. I have had one of them and they are delicious. I am saving them for Christmas so I can have a sweet after dinner. Geez though when I think about it, they too have no real purpose...nothing nutritional about them. I think in the new year I am just not going to buy anything unless it has a nutritional value to it....then I won't be tempted.

We had the same sunny day here in Florida. Not a cloud in the sky, but we had a bit of cooler weather, dipped down to high40's but back up to high 70's. Lady from Michigan today stated it will be good to get outside, they keep these Dr.'s offices so cold. Then she said but nothing like home. I asked where was home and she said Michigan and it was 1 degree there. Another overweight gentleman said "Well it was so cold I thought I would have to put a sheet on to sleep.

Glad to hear you are having FIL up for dinner.

I am so ready for some warm sun, we're looking at snow overnight. I'm not a big cookie eater but I found a wonderful oatmeal raisin cookie with not a lot of sugar and it's high in fiber. I have one as a special treat occasionally. Have a great weekend Sallie!

Love your resolve to eat for nutrition. I have one friend who calls himself and his wife a nutritarian, eating to maximize nutrition. They try to make every bite contribute to their health. What a great way to live!! It would help me so much if my hubby was at all interested in eating healthy; having to deal with his junk food in the house all the time is a challenge. But he's not going to change. Guess you have some of that issue in your home, plus you have the challenge of far less labeling in Mexico. But most of the really good stuff -- fresh fruits and veggies -- come with no label anyway. And I have total control over what goes in my mouth.

Love the picture, too. What a beautiful place you live. Thanks for sharing and for your kind words on my blog, too, Sallie.

OMG! I am addicted to that show! Love Mandy Patinkin anyhow, but Claire Dane is spectacular too. So many twists and turns, I never can predict what will happen next!

It's those non-regular foods that tempt and sabotage our attempts to stay within a calorie range. Keeping them out of the house is a reasonable strategy for keeping them out of you!

When I first moved here I'd miss white Christmas terribly. Now I'll take a sunny warm Christmas over a snowy white one any day. Incidentally it's raining today in SoCal. :)

I've gotten into the habit of eating chips with hummus and have vowed to ditch this habit. You're right, no good comes from chips, even if they're organic, gluten free, or what have you. Better to do the hummus with fresh veggies.

    Have a wonderful Christmas.

I have to agree with you. Like vampires, those tasty bits will get you if you invite them into your home.
