A friend told me about coconut oil and Alzheimers....

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

so , of course I came home and looked it up. Real research is being done in this area. I found some scientific journal articles but they did not say coconut oil,,they gave the scientific names for each o f the types of fats and , honestly, i got confused.

so.. I went looking for something easier to understand and found a Mercola srticle.

Here is the link. chris

Thank you thank you thank you. I have it but quit using it! But as of today it's back over the stove! Maybe it can help my brain before it's long gone!

I bought coconut oil as a sub for butter and oil when cooking. Then I got a sunburn and was looking up remodies online to help with the pain and I found that I could use my coconut oil for it. Best lotion ever!

Coconut oil: I use it on my skin, organic of course, and I do oil pulling. Now that is healing!

I see the benefits of coconut oil everywhere. I use tons of it. I buy it by the gallon! It's great stuff.

My favorite, go-to breakfast is soft boiled eggs. I start the cup out with 2 T of coconut oil, 1 T of (real!) butter, and add 3 soft-boiled eggs and one piece of dry toast, torn up. I could eat this every day. You don't even taste the coco oil.

I also use coco oil to saute or fry in. We don't fry much, but it's good for that in any case. I've heard of others making "bulletproof" coffee or tea by adding a bit of coco oil to it.. but I haven't been able to manage that. It can be drizzled lightly over any hot anything, like veggies or less marbled meats.

Very good stuff. Find ways to incorporate it into your mom's diet! And your own!

Thanks for sharing. I am amazed at the healing qualities of coconut oil. I began doing coconut oil pulling 7 days ago and can't believe what a difference it has made fr my dental health, my sinuses, and even clearing up eczema on hands. It even made my teeth whiter! I now that it has a huge number of health qualities and is an antibacterial and antifungal as well. It is said to raise the metabolism, aid in weight loss, etc. so I am not surprised that it could help when it comes to Alzheimer's. (It is also great for skin and hair.)

There has been some indication that some people with Alzheimer's symptoms may have something like a diabetes 3!

I saw this a few years ago and had forgotten some of the points. Thanks! We have increased our coconut oil a lot since this information came available and my DD with Asperger's has been doing much better! Coincidence?
