Hibiscus Tea

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

I'm going to get some Hibiscus tea this weekend. I have been feeling...well.."off" the last week or so. I had stopped taking the blood pressure med that my Dr gave me. It made me feel like a zombie. But I was feeling off...I could feel my heart pounding...headaches...a bit light headed...ringing in my ears (but then I have Tinnitus anyway) so I decided to check mt BP here at home. I wasn't pleased! it was high...163/63! emoticon So I started taking the med again today. But I also did some looking around and found that drinking 3 cups of tea with hibiscus in it can help reduce a person's BP. So while I'll keep taking the meds (I'm thinking every other day?), I'll try the tea too.

Of course it didn't help my BP the conflict at work yesterday..and that it continued (with the same person!) today..to the point that I was in tears. Management was NOT happy with the person. And to top it all off..today was the dept Christmas (although we couldn't call it that) potluck. The activity commentate I'm part of was in charge of it. I did a lot of the logistics for it (buying table clothes, doing the flyers. sending email blasts to everyone, ordering tables from facilities, etc). I was afraid no one would really participate....but after all was said and done..it looked great and everyone showed up with food and had a great time! emoticon

I was able to de-stress tonight at home...drinking hot tea (Sweet Pumpkin). And since I ate at the potluck..no dinner. I did have a snack about an hour ago. Also no work out today.

I also think getting back on track to losing weight will help with the BP issues.

Anyway...I'm going to bed...see you all tomorrow!

My mom swore that drinking rose hip tea helped her BP. She drank it every day. Don't know if it helps or not, but if you're looking for something different, you might see if you can find it.

Congratulations on a succesful holiday potluck !! Martha Stewart told me to give you a thumbs up from me and her !

emoticon Congratulations on the Successful Office Party!!
emoticon Good Luck with the Tea, and I know you will be back "On-Track" with your Fitness very soon. That should help your Blood Pressure, too.

Why did you ever doubt yourself? You're a socialite born and bred. It was bound to be a success. Could be the stuff at work was getting to you. Normally the docs are more worried about the bottom number of your pressure. Yours is good. I'm betting losing ten lbs. would made the needed difference.

Tell Chuck I'll be thinking about him tomorrow.

Love you guys,
Calen~
