I am slipping a bit on my December #SparkTheSeason goals.
It's the EVERY DAY that seems to be getting me. When I make a goal to do something every day, it kills me to see that midnight has sneaked by me and I didn't get it done. It's happened once, now, but with both goals at the same time, which feels worse for some reason.
But on a more positive note...
I've been working on a scarf for DH that I want to wrap up for Christmas. It goes nicely with the other gift I got him, which is a new coat from Danier, the store that sells beautiful, expensive leather coats. (However, the one I got him is suede, and it was on for half-price. It's a men's size S and DH's other coat is a size M, so he can wear it over a suit jacket if necessary. The size M is brown, and the new one is dark grey, so they are still different enough. The scarf I am knitting is in shades of grey and black, with a tiny hint of purple to make it not so boring -- and therefore perfect for DH, who is definitely not boring!)
Today I had my training session and I used the Smith machine properly, pulling up the bar to exercise all the little muscles in my shoulders. Then I tried doing push-ups on the bar and my new trainer changed the way I had to do them. Eek! Keep your hands close together and your elbows tucked in close to your body. Can you say HARD? I did, like, five and that was it. Ugh!
Then I went to Step class and had fun. Next Tuesday (Christmas Eve) we are to dress in green or red, because apparently Dan the Man is going to dress like Santa to do the class. I am toying with the idea of making a little anklet with jingle bells on it because I think it would be fun to do Step with bells on. Not sure if I am actually that ambitious though -- I mean, I would have to buy some bells and elastic and get out my sewing needle. That's work!
And speaking of work, we have had so much snow this year. There is no question of a white Christmas. The amount of snow that's piled up already couldn't melt away before the 25th, even if some kind of a freak tropical weather front moved in tomorrow.
So yeah, I put my time in shovelling today. I bet my shoulders will be sore tomorrow.
