Sigh of relief

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

My friend Paolo came over today and looked at the car. He scraped the (corroded) battery leads with a wire brush and now the car starts just fine. Of course, I'll soon need a new battery and probably new leads, but for the minute it's a load off my mind. So I can go back to work tomorrow.

Oh, and I forgot I have On Demand. I was able to catch up on Cutthroat Kitchen (the funniest show on TV, IMHO). Clams Casino with geoduck clams? One of the uglier critters God ever devised? I don't blame Alton for cracking up -- it was priceless!

Tank goodness you can go back to work and not have to worry about not having a vehicle during the holiday season. You certainly have a good, talented friend!

I think Alton has really warmed to his audience since he did the motorcycle road trip.
He is certainly funny that show.

Alton has a great evil laugh. We enjoyed that one.

Glad the car is OK. Did your friend put some form of grease, e.g. Vaseline, over the terminals to slow down the return of the corrosion? It's an old trick but it saved me on more than one occasion. I assume he also checked the "water" level if the battery is old enough to need that. Good luck!

Nothing worse than having car problems around the holidays! I'm glad you've been granted a pass for now on extensive repairs!
