Christmas Spirit

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Okay - it's time. I need to get into the Christmas spirit. I haven't yet this year. It's probably because I've been so busy and a little worried about loved ones. But, it's time. Go look at lights. Spend more time with family. Play games and look at pictures with them. Go look at lights. Something! Time to do it!

Oh I don't worry too much about timelines before Christmas Eve because it will all get done with adjustments. Bourbon balls need to be done about a week out but everything else can be done a few days before hand with no issue. I'm pretty much done with my preparations for Christmas anyhow. It's all smooth enough sailing from here. I made it my priority to look after my health first in life so exercise, food, enough water and keeping my stress levels low are the most important thing. Not eating too much gumbo on Christmas Eve either. Its usually eaten with white rice but I'm having it with Quinoa this year or Brown Rice!
Just the Lemon Brass Monkey needs to be done next week probably on Christmas Eve instead of this week and just cookies and bourbon balls today! Happy Holidays to both of us and we'll make it~

It is difficult for me too. I actually feel a wonderful Christmas spirit on Christmas day every year, not before much. Too much commotion, have-tos, busyness, demands, etc. I hope your plan works. emoticon emoticon

As I get older, I am really not in the Christmas spirit. I enjoy giving gifts to family members. But that is all! Kind of sad the way things change...

I'm unusually in the Christmas spirit this year.....bought a new tree this year, got a few homemade gifts ornaments, and some festive holiday wear from my work's Christmas brunch.....snow is on the ground, well melted mushy patchy snow lol but not got to let that bum me out. As a desert rat, the less snow the better far as that goes....

We have a light parade here, not to many neighborhoods get festive.....one year would like to make the trip down to the Phoenix zoo for zoolights, Oh well, keep it festive in the house and buy another 1/2 gallon of eggnog,,,,,still trying to figure out why they don't sell it by the gallon?!?

I went looking at Christmas lights last week, I'm getting into baking this week and I went shopping yesterday so I just need to listen to some Xmas music next. I have the spirit pretty nicely so far! It'll come for you~

I don't like going shopping this time of year either but it was necessary and it wasn't that busy since the kids are still in school this week. People were nice and calm as well so that was a pleasant experience.

I'm in the same type of "funk." I did manage to decorate my office, but I don't feel like Christmas is coming next week, I haven't shopped at all, and I haven't done much of anything else. I will take your advice too and go look at some lights or something!

Listen to some Christmas carols. Works for me.

I'm in a similar boat. I had it earlier this month and seem to have lost it with all the "work" that goes into it!
