BRIDESMAID DRESSES AND MOTIVATION

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

I met with JAHINTZY at David's Bridal last night to try on a dress for her wedding. After finding out that the one she originally wanted was discontinued, we did find what we think will be a good replacement. I just hope it looks good on the other attendants as well so we can get it ordered.

I really love this dress but I am not happy about the way my arms look.
I am not sure if I have enough time to do Much about it but I intend to try.
I am also still up from this time last year.
Yesterday I was up a whole ten pounds.
Today I was back down 2lbs. This does not surprise me. I knew I was bloated from lack of exercise (5 days) and too much holiday junk food indulgence during my mother's annual cooking decorating /weekend pre-Christmas visit.

After we were done with the dress shopping we had a light meal and later went for a good hard swim at the Y. Sure enough some of the bloating was down today.

Still, I would like to re-shed some of my +weight (8lbs) and tone up my arms a bit before the wedding in early March.

I think a friend's wedding and a pretty dress make excellent motivation.

Now to get through the Holidays!

I am also pleased to report that I am still dating the same man I was this time last year and I have solved (theoretically) the issue of not getting enough exercise when spending time with him.
I bought a used elliptical and am keeping at his place.
Now to discipline myself and start using it when I am there.

emoticon You have a very reasonable goal, and the dress is very flattering. From that picture I don't really see anything wrong with your arms, but you just have to do what makes you feel best. Personally, I like to do tricep dips when my arms get me down because I find them challenging, they make me feel stronger, and it helps with the under the arm jiggle everyone has.

You can absolutely lose those 8lbs before the wedding. A pretty dress and looking good in it will be a great reward too! emoticon

I think you have a very reachable goal.
Do what is healthy throughout the holidays and watch what happens.

That was part of my Master plan. I am hoping he will use it as well. He needs to get healthier too!

I think the dress is great. Holidays are so full of eating that I find it difficult to stay on any diet, so you are doing just fine by losing it right away. If you use the elliptical, I bet your boyfriend will use it as well, although maybe not when you are there.
