Stress is stealthy

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

You're sitting there relaxing when suddenly your brain is flooded with everything you have to do. Or everything you've done wrong. Or whatever. Then you feel your stomach tightening, your pulse and respiration increasing, a headache starting. Suddenly you want to curl up in a ball and sleep.

I need to stay one step ahead, nip that stress in the bud. I need to find a way to stop the flash flood of negativity.

I'm gonna work on that.

Katie you describe the sneaky stress so well. I'm interested in finding solution too. I joined FlyLady (www.FlyLady.com) some months ago. On my good days, or in brief moments I use what she suggests to help me do things. Very helpful.

But more than that she taught me to Fly=Finally Love Yourself and to quit thinking "I'm behind" but instead jump in where I am and do 15 minutes (set a timer). Well my 15 minutes are often just 5 due to pain levels. But I learn to accept myself, be where I am with what I CAN DO rather than beat myself up with ALL I haven't done.

It's just a different mind set but has helped me tremendously. She recommends one set up morning and evening routines and this has changed my life! I rarely leave dirty dishes to tomorrow any more! I like my shiny sink! It is my reward for loving myself and seeing my chores as blessings instead of dreaded work.

Blessings of love to you!
Gray
