Two Years since reaching my goal weight!

Monday, December 16, 2013

Because, really, I am absolutely thrilled that I've managed another year in maintenance and that by reaching the two year mark there is my chances of gaining the weight back are now 50%. That's an odd I can beat!!

The last month has been a tough one, but that is where spark people comes in. I started tracking again and being mindful of my food in-take and my daily exercise, and began to feel in control of my weight again.

The change in lifestyle to full time study has meant a much more sedentary way of life, and I'm still figuring it out. But I have the tools to help me, and I'm still using them and appreciating them. And I'm still at my goal weight.

One interesting thing is being in a place where people only know me at this size. People perceive me differently - and it helps. They simply see me as thin and assume I have always been that way, so I don't feel like anyone is just waiting for me to gain the weight all back again. It helps me with my own perception of myself and makes me believe that this is who I am now: healthy and slim.

Thank you to the maintenance team for celebrating my two year anniversary with me. The messages mean the world to me.

Many congratulations!! That's such a wonderful achievement, and knowing that you can continue maintaining through life and lifestyle changes has to be a big boost. I hope you've been going into all the new places as your confident self, as well as your healthy and slim self.

I'm sure the official statistic is 50%, but that will include all the people that don't have the tools, knowledge and back up that you do. I suspect your odds are a whole lot better than that!

i'm thrilled for your achievement and i am moved by your insights. i hope i can practice that all-important pause the next time i find myself choosing a food or a portion over which i feel guilt instead of enjoyment. i also found your perspective interesting about being in an environment where no-one is aware of your weight history and having that be liberating. food, or shall i say nourishment, for thought. thanks and congratulations.
