Meditate

Today's Elf for Health Challenge is to mediate. Meditation is something I really cannot get into. I have an app on my phone called Head Space and I really find the whole processs quite annoying. Finding some quiet time tonight will have to take its place. Anyone else meditate? Any websites or apps for meditation you can recommend?

    In my quest to learn to meditate,
    I just read an article that suggested,
    there are a 100,000 ways to meditate.
    And when you find the right way for you,
    there will be 100,001.

    There's no right or wrong way to meditate.
    Just find whatever you need to do to be still
    and think your own thoughts.

    We don't have to sit crosslegged, with
    eyes closed . . . . if that doesn't work for you
    find something that does.
    (Personally, I like to be outdoors.)

    If you like to listen to quiet music,
    then go for it.

    Whatever floats your boat into a peaceful harbor.

    I have a really hard time meditating. It's almost impossible for me to shut my brain off to everything else going on in my life. I actually had to start going to therapy because the stress had gotten so bad that I was anxious all of the time! Now, I try to use the mantras that my therapist has given me to try and at least be more mindful to take time for me. It's a work in progress!

    I find it difficult to meditate by myself! I do much better when I practice meditation as part of the relaxation at the beginning and end of yoga session. It does calm my mind and makes me feel more energized.
    I do have an app on my kobo, but I get distracted when I try to do it at home.
    My coach suggested to practice meditation by being mindful as I am going for a walk or a run.... no music, just be in the moment and paying attention to my body and mind.
    It works for me...

    4 days 'til break!!! I can't wait :-)

    I've taken the LONG road to meditation. Still no expert but I've learned to quiet my mind. Just baby steps.
