I had a rough weekend. That happens sometimes, but now I'm back on track. I choose to remain positive. Sometimes I made some healthy choices, other times I didn't. Truth be told, I didn't have as many options as I would have liked. Our food budget is a little low this month due to moving since we had to start all over with stocking up the pantry. Its not like we don't have food, but not all of it is exactly what I would choose to eat on a regular basis. What I really want is fresh fruits and veggies. Well, I won't stress over it. G-d will provide. He always has. I am still amazed by all the support that we have received moving into our new apartment. Even yesterday we received more items which spurred me to continue organizing. With the help of some friends and my husband, I moved furniture around to make room for the new items, came up with better solutions, and continued to work at making our apartment more homey. G-d provided and I was able to eat at Subway. I didn't get to choose the item I really wanted and had to settle for the $2 meatball sub, but I loaded it up with veggies.
I will say that since our food budget is low, I haven't had the option of eating a lot of things that are bad for me either. we're not buying a lot of snacky things or desserts and just focusing on what we need. This afternoon will be soup. Whenever we make a pack of chicken, I utilize the broth and whatever leftover chicken there is for my lunches. So far I've made it almost every day last week having soup. This weekend we had more chicken, so I'll be able to continue the soup thing. That's not to say that we haven't had things that are bad for us. Yesterday when our friends came over they brought a pack of cookies. There were 4 of us adults and our 2 kids. Those were polished off quickly, and I had plenty.
Just an addendum to my previous blog- I am NOT drinking 15 glasses of water. That is how much I need to be drinking, not what I am drinking. I don't even get close to that mark. I have a lot of coffee and tea but probably only drink 2-3 water bottles per day. I'm not much into drinking tap water, it kind of grosses me out. I'm not sure what our tap water tastes like now that we've moved. For that matter, I'm not even sure what kind of water it is. Most water in my town is well water. I know that some apartment complexes use wells for the water too, but I'm not sure about this one. Some wells have a nasty sulfur smell to them. The water that comes out of our tap does not, but I'm still leary of drinking it. I would like to get a filter to attach to it or at least a pitcher like Britta to fill with water. I do really well with drinking when I drink out of my own refillable water bottle. It has a straw and I suck it down really fast. I suppose I could just fill it with the water from the disposable water bottles that we have been drinking.
One last thing- I am still planning on doing a lot of working out. Its been a slow morning and I've had difficulty getting going, but I intend to get my workout in.
Oh- and I am at 239.8- just barely under 240 but still there. That was as of Friday morning. Now to work hard to make sure this weekend didn't undue that.
