For me, every season is a great season for lists. It's how I get things done. This morning's list is brought to you by an inventory of slightly used at home gym equipment. Boredom cannot be an excuse with all this variety! Starting now, I will endeavor to cycle through my options.
Exercises I can do at home:
Cardio: Bike, walk, run, jump rope, dance
Strength: 30 Day shred, bench press, dead lift, lat pulldown, curls, various kettlebell exercises, balance workouts on Bosu ball or balance board, yoga, pushups, planks, squats.
Aside from the plank and any residual core action from other exercises, I affectionately left off core specific exercises. Once I lose some layers in that area, I'll work on toning the muscle underneath. Crunches and related strain in that area are my biggest turn offs in strength training. That and mountain climbers...and burpees! Do you have any exercises you cringe to do? The beauty of fitness is there are too many options. Unless you're maintaining, refining, and chiseling, which we WILL all do one day, don't do what you don't like!
Do you find excuses not to work out at home? Maybe you too need to take stock of what you can do.
P.S. I did find a few kettlebell exercises that work the core, like this one, that I'd be willing to do: www.sparkpeople.com/reso
