Day 5 - Day 1 of Cardio

I don't know what came over me this morning, well afternoon, but I suddenly had to urge to "move my body." For the past couple of months, my Saturdays have been HGTV marathons and or just "hanging out" (if people in their 40's still do that).

Anywho, I was just laying around thinking about how I was going to start adding cardio to my plan again sometime soon, when it occured to me I was doing anything at that very moment. We have a family membership at the rec center and I've only been twice. So what the world was I waiting for?

Now.. for some reason, I thought I could just hop on an elliptical machine, after never having been on one before mind you, and challenge myself. I'm so glad there were only a handful of people in the machine room because it looked like me and that machine were having battle with each other. A mess. I managed to hang on for about 10 minutes, but decided it was not a good look so I politely went over the treadmill where I felt safe and wanted. emoticon

I'm not one to go down without a fight, so I may give it a whirl again tomorrow. (after watching "how to workout on a elliptical" videos, of course) emoticon

    emoticon Even if the elliptical turns out to be something other than your go to workout, it's a wonderful thing to have options that break up the regular routine. emoticon

    Good for you for getting out there. I went for a long walk in the falling snow. I had no intentions of going out in the bitter cold ,but my husband encouraged me so off we went I felt good after I came in with stinging cold cheeks.I plan on another walk in the snow tomorrow also. I have a plan for each day

    elliptical is my favorite. treadmill tip, the higher the incline, the more calories you burn
