I am holding to my goal weight but there are challenges coming. Several parties and events in the next week and then Christmas.
Christmas baking and cookies has been a part of my holiday fun. But this year I have put the recipe box away and just living vicariously through the baking marathons of others. It is amazing what you can find on Pinterest Do I miss the fudge and the Mexican wedding cakes? YES!!! But the best advice I read on a SP blog is that your body does NOT know it is Christmas. It could be the second Tuesday in February.
This orgy of food is really about the memories of the holidays and the shared events of the past. Some memories are good, some sad and some are just depressing. This part of the weight loss journey -maintenance- is about staying healthy. So I look at what I can eat and try to decide if it is good for my body or just my mind wanting to hold on to a past memory.
Pictures are a very low calorie alternative. Maybe pictures of holiday food? Good luck to all of us in our healthy choices
