not quite 50 years without Christmas...

Saturday, December 14, 2013

Some have asked... and while explaining, I also found an interesting blog from a man who I've never personally met, and his experience mirrors mine so closely it's not funny. It's both a video and the transcript (more or less) following it. He was older than me when his parents made the decision to stop telling stories about Santa Claus and all of that, and I'm guessing that makes him like nine years older than me. But whatever. I don't have a lot of time to be online for now, about time to leave for services. I thought I'd share this as a quick blog... not my words, now, remember, but pretty much everything else is same...

Didn't check out the link, but this is our third year not celebrating Christmas. My mom moved in with us this year, and it will be her first year not to celebrate it, but she's doing it because she doesn't believe in it and not just because she's living with us. emoticon

CHRISTMAS IS THE CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS. GIVING GIFTS REPRESENTS BRING GIFTS TO JESUS LIKE THE WISE MEN DID. YES I BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS. EACH OF US HAS TO MAKE UP THEIR OWN MINDS ABOUT CHRISTMAS. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. GOD BLESSINGS TO YOU AND FAMILY ALWAYS. AMEN!!!

Our family (hubby, son and I) has been gradually disconnecting from Christmas for the past few years - it's hard to explain to people why - they get defensive. Everyone has to be sure in their own hearts what's right for them.
