Snow Storm is coming my way

Friday, December 13, 2013

Now...that's an old cartoon....but...the truth is
Winter Storms make me feel as if I need to stock up on goodies
{...because...who knows...I could be trapped in the house forever...
and I need to keep up my strength...}
Apparently, there were a lot of other folks who had the same idea
and they all showed up at the supermarkets in my area this afternoon.
The lines were unreal.

So...Okay...I behaved and bought fruit, and soup ingredients...
and cleaning stuff....
{...hey...miracles can happen...I might want to do housework...}
as I sit here watching tv...I keep thinking cream
{ don't do it cream...}
I've got bananas, apples, cheddar cheese, and peanut butter.
{ cream...}
NO....fuggedaboudit I'm not giving in
but I want an extra present from Santa this year
{...5 lbs less would be nice...}
hey...I can dream, can't I?

    In our neck of the woods there was tons of snow that started to come down on Tues and just never quit. But not our town! We had a thaw and then a freeze (think skating rink) but the snow is down a lot. To celebrate I cleaned the house today. Tomorrow I want to bake for gifts. I really shouldn't but will anyway. Chocolate chip cookies, rice krispy squares, peanut butter cookies, and everyone's all time favorite honey squares. Then tuck it all into the freezer. Sigh!!!!!!!

    Everyone was stock piling here too. I find it interesting to see what everyone fills their carts with. People my age like batteries and coleman fuel. Young people stock up on frozen dinners. I guess they don't anticipate that if you have no electricity you have no microwave and no way to cook them.

I always think ice cream - it's my cure for every problem.

    Yes, lot's of stuff can happen to make a person fat in a storm. Since I'm 50, I don't have to worry about some of them anymore. emoticon
