Test done today.

Saw the Rhuematologist and things seem to be pretty good for my Lupus right now, no rashes, not too much pain, except for my throat and swollen gland on my right side. The gland is always swollen up, a bit more after the dentist the other day. This has been attributed to my TMJ, but my throat get's really raw and feels sore. It goes away after a few days, but Rhuemy asked me to go off my Lupus medication for about a week to see if will clear up faster. I also told him about some weird pains I have been having on and off over the last few months. Also about using the elliptical the other day, at a pretty slow speed (15 min. mile) and my heart rate jumping up to 190 after about 20-25 min. and staying there for a bit, even slowing way down. I have been having trouble with high blood pressure the last few months too. Since I was seeing my FP doctor right after him, he went over to talk to her about what tests they wanted to do. Just be careful what you tell your doctors because the next thing you know is they want to do all sorts of tests on you.

So I had an EKG in the office, along with a chest x-ray, flue shot and blood & urine workup. The GP said the EKG looked OK. They also scheduled a Stess-Echocardiogram Test and I have to call a Cardiologist for an appointment too. Oh brother! Not done yet. I will also have to wear a Holter monitor-HLM for 48 hrs., once I call Cardiology Service, which is the same place that I have my Pro-times done at, to see when they want me to pick it up. Since I have the SET scheduled for 12/23, I will have to see if they want me to wait to pick up Holter at that time or get sooner. I have a pro-time scheduled for the 20th, so I could pick it up then and they would have those results by the 23rd.

My mom had A-fib and one of my big sister's has Idopathic V-tach, along with Lymphedema . Big sis has recently undergone a 6 week compression therapy for the Lymphedema. I don't seem to be having that problem at this time, but it does run in the family as all of my mother's sister's had the problem. Her father (my grandfather) died from complications which they called the "Dropzees" back then. I am not too worried about the test, I am sure all will be OK. If not, I will deal with it. All these things can get worse due to my having Lupus.

So my morning was shot after spending nearly 4 hrs at the doctors office. I came home for lunch, write grocery list & get coupons. Unfortunately, when I wanted to leave the gardeners came to do the yard. Phred goes nuts when they come and we have to lock him inside the house, where he barks non-stop for about 40 mins. After they left I just didn't have any energy so put off the market tell tomorrow. Did manage about a 1 mile walk with Phred, so did get a small amount of exercise in.

Very disappointed in my weight. Didn't lose anything since the last time I was there, but didn't gain either. I would have thought with the added exercise I would be losing a couple of pounds a month, maybe even in a week.

Maybe it is just the stress from the last couple of months with all the family and friend dieing that has got me going nowhere fast. lol Ok out of here.

Stress can do that and it is a good possibility with what has gone on in your life. I will pray that you do well in all your tests and your HR isn't a problem. Take care, Teri. Thinking about you! emoticon emoticon

I feel it is better to have the tests done and avoid any further complications. I tell ya, any autoimmune disease is just a pain in the rump and apparently other places too! Wishing you well with all the other tests! At least you didn't gain and I've read that increased exercise can cause a temporary weight gain due to the muscles gaining fluid and such and then it disappears! Let's hope that is what is goign on with you! Hang in there! Give fred a hug for me!

Sounds as if the doctors are checking you out thoroughly, which is good. Don't stress over your weight, just keep on following the program. You have done it before, and you can do it again! Hope that all your tests turn out well! Take care and don't let the stress get to you! emoticon
