Plan…plan…plan & you will succeed!

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

OK I have a party on Thursday and everyone had to sign to bring either a “heavy” appetizer or a desert. So I chose to bring an appetizer. Now to choose wisely and bring a nutritious and healthy treat that all will enjoy without realizing anything different is my current quest.

I have decided on those yummy cocktail meatballs. You know the one, it’s so easy, all you need is grape jelly mixed with chili sauce and then add in meatballs and WALA! Done...

Ok not so fast though. I found one that uses Turkey meatballs and not ground beef but do you have any idea what the nutritional value is on this recipe? Well approximately 239 calories for about 9 small 1/2 oz meatballs.

Well I love to revamp recipes into healthier versions and enjoy passing them off without anyone even suspecting they are healthier than what they are use to, he he he. So I’m in the process of revamping a meatball recipe to take as my appetizer for this party. Once I have it designed and after it passes the taste test at the party I’ll post the verdict and share my new recipe with all.

I would love a copy of the recipe once it is tasted tested. We make these meatballs on Christmas Eve Day and they are devoured. Post some of the appetizers and desserts brought...I'd love to know which one's could be healthy or revamped to be healthy.
