I am getting myself sorted ready for Christmas. With the help of the articles on SparkPeople - and the menu recommendations from the Forks over Knives team - I've put together a menu plan which I am looking forward to. There is nothing excessive - but I've included treat-like features which will make me feel festive and special.
I'm not working this year - and on my own for Xmas - so I am totally in control of what I eat and what I do exercise-wise. I read a great article on here yesterday about keeping up the exercise over the holidays - whilst allowing yourself just a little more food, but staying within calorie-ranges. I'm going to have a great Xmas.
I have been using my rebounder - working up gradually to more and more time on it. It's surprised me how tiring it was at first, but I'm already feeling a lot stronger - great workout for the legs - and beneficial for the whole body apparently.
I have space indoors now where I can hoop - and I leave it out so that I am tempted to have a quick hoop! Leaving equipment out where it can be seen seems to be key for me.
I also have a box with weights in - which is also 'out' where I can see them - and I'm managing to pick those up more often (in fact, I'm off to do that right now!)
I'm not losing weight at the moment - but I'm in the normal range. I think once I start jogging/running again, the weight will start to shift.
I had a week's holiday from work last week - and although I was busy all week, it was nice to not think about work! I went back to work yesterday - and am in today for a sleep-in shift. One of my most favourite pack-up meals at the moment is a sort of Waldorf Salad - cut up celery, apple, cheese, raisins, walnuts, mayo - it has all the textures and flavours in it and I find it very satisfying. (not too much cheese, mayo or walnuts of course!)
Hope you're all doing well.
