Three week blog a day challenge - day 16

If I could change one thing about myself it would be to be more positive. How and why? I get discouraged and disappointed in myself (and others). I can change how I react with family when things go badly. Instead of withdrawing I could pick up a positive thread and stay present. It does mean walking a line between letting others walk all over me and being unkind to someone who has hurt me. I need to be more consistent with positive self talk. I would never speak to others as I do to myself. We can be our own best friends!

    The negative self-talk is a regular battle for me. I'm much better now than I was last year - even last summer! Keep at it. We should be our own best friends, not enemies!

    I'm a pessimist by nature and have found it very helpful to spend time thinking about the BEST possible outcome in any situation. While I wouldn't say I'm "positive" exactly, I certainly find myself looking for the silver lining more often!
