Got married 35 years ago today, and after the day, I still have to ask myself why>

I made a nice supper, which went uneaten.... cornish game hens stuffed with rice and fruit and baked squash....

Then I escaped into our book club book.... Richard Paul Evans –"Finding Noel" – 2 children separated and adopted at age 5 and 7 are reunited in their 20’s. The older one, abused in a horrid foster home, has dreams that come true and she dreams a snowman will come and she will take him home so he doesn’t melt. This is the man she will marry and he becomes part of the life she now shares with a woman who lost her 4 y.o. to a drowning. After only 3 weeks, he asks Macy Woods to marry him and she runs. Her soon-to-be-adopted mom, tells Mark Smart that he should give Macy some time. He goes home and finds out his father was only a substitute for his mom’s dh who died in Viet Nam. He returns in time to be there for Macy when Joette dies of cancer and also is there when her sis, Noel, who was adopted by rich lawyer family, but never told she was adopted, finds a letter from her mom in a broken Christmas ornament and learns from her adoptive mom where her sis lives. Author summarizes what has happened from then till now.... Awesome Christmas read, will definitely be reading more of his books.

Another book on my list of books to read. I must be honest and tell you I haven't been reading as much as I want to. Last week was so frazzling to me that I know I must slow down and do what I want more.

Thirty five years ago, that's what we did...get married. I am forever grateful for my daughters, but I am more grateful that I got out of that relationship and raised my girls my way. The past six months, you have been doing more for yourself and less for others because you felt you had to. You've come a long way and I'm proud of you.

sorry that you had such a disappointing anniversary. I will say congratulations anyways though as 35 year is a mile marker that no a lot of people make it to anymore, it seems.

So very sorry your anniversary wasn't what you'd hoped. That's really rough.

As for the book, I only read things with happier themes - there's enough pain in the world without making up more, and the authors' sadnesses stay with me. I like cozy mysteries - a dead body (someone you didn't like), a clever plot and a happy ending with little to no bloodshed. That's my idea of a good read. Yeah, I'm an emotional coward - but I'm a happy one.
