How some things have changed...

I am sitting here petting the dog who is curled up in my lap and I am thinking of all the changes that have happened in the last couple years. The dog is one of those changes (and an important one). I think back to May of 2011 and what I would have done on a typical day. I was pretty pathetic. I would have been locked in my apartment, eating candy, reading for hours on end without getting up and moving even once. Today, I walked the dog three times, walked to the library (the long way around), did some yoga, visited with family, cleaned up a little in my apartment, baked cookies, read a book, and it is only 7:30. I will probably bake another batch of cookies, or maybe some muffins, and read another book. It is still a relaxed day, as I require my life to be low stress for health reasons, but it is much more active than before I joined Sparkpeople. Those are just the obvious changes...

I also lowered my cholesterol and blood pressure. And I completely control my diabetes with diet and exercise. I am happier. Even on my bad days I am pretty content with my life. I am in a good place over all. It is such a relief!
