I was feeling a little nervous going public with my low carb lifestyle - more for myself actually being in public making food choices I could live with. We went out for breakfast Saturday morning. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet that came with a side of hash browns and pancakes. My kids pounced on the hash browns and pancakes, so I happily stayed on plan with my huge omelet, which kept me full for about 6 hours.
On Sunday, we went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I ordered fajitas, just eating the meat with a little sour cream. The chips and tortillas that I thought would intimidate me really didn't.
With previous attempts at low carb, I really didn't enjoy eating out because I felt limited. Now, I fully accept the low carb principles and enjoy the food I'm eating, not longing for food that I'm choosing not to eat.
I've wrapped up my homework and finals for my two classes this semester, so I really feel free to focus on myself and my well-being. I'm in the right place mentally to make lasting changes.
