Starting over

I've been on SparkPeople for over 6 years. I can't remember how many times I've started over.

Sure, I'm a little wiser each time, but it's starting over nonetheless. What wears me down is when my challenges are the same.

Dr. Pepper
Lack of exercise
Too little sleep (from staying up too late)

Sometimes I try tackling one at a time. Sometimes I try them all. This time I'll try them all.

I'm going to keep Dr. Pepper out if the house, go to bed with the baby and try for 30 minutes of cardio each day. That should make a big difference in how I feel, laying the groundwork for bigger changes.

My birthday is in six months. Every year I set a goal to be at a healthy weight by my birthday. This time I will do it.

    I can totally relate to your blog. This time of the year I get depressed so I go on a binge eating. It's hard to give up the pop but it's an addiction, mine is to caffeine.

I had hip replacement surgery in September and I am trying to walk 3 days a week. When it is cold like it is now, my hip doesn't seem to want to work right.

    emoticon emoticon I know that you can do this!!! If the 30 min of exercise each day is too much shoot for 10. Maybe do on SparkPeople video a day. If you feel like going on then do more. SparkPhoenix has a 10 minute challenge for the rest of the month. Maybe you want to give it a try? Just my two cents! Small goals helped me reach my bigger goal.

I am right there with ya with the soda thing. I don't keep soda, chips, cookies or candy in my house or I will eat it. If I want it I have to put shoes on and drive to the store.

    I have some idea of what you think /feel as I noticed with dismay that I've been a member of SparkPeople since July 2010 and although I made some good progress, I too have started over multiple times.

The main thing is, is that you're here and you set some realistic goals for yourself.

    Try some strength training too. You could swap out some of your cardio for it if you feel like you can only squeeze in that half hour. It will make a huge difference- I know that it does for me!
