I am really feeling the Christmas spirit finally!
Got the house cleaned and decorated (and the boxes put away), wrapped all the presents that need to be mailed, spent some good time with my kids... oh yeah, did karate, and scouts, had an Auxiliary meeting, took the kids to a movie... Yeah, it was busy, but good too.
So, with two small kids, I always hear about the Elf on the Shelf... have thought it sounded fun, but like a lot of work for mom and dad... so I've resisted. Well, with Dad gone for 2 weeks... and the kids deciding to act out almost immediately after we dropped him at the airport, I told the kids I needed an extra set of eyes at home to report to Santa - so I asked Santa for an elf.
My 6 year old was NOT excited about this, my daughter (4+) was VERY excited! Santa ended up telling us that he'd sent the last of his elves to Costco, so we got to go pick out our very own! DD picked out a girl and named her "Snowflake". My son spent all day Sunday trying to convince my daughter that it was just a stuffed toy and not real. So, my daughter tucks Snowflake into bed with her - and told me that she'd know Snowflake wasn't real in the morning because she'd still be there.
Well, Snowflake decided to make trouble last night... She opened the flour, spilled a bunch on the counter and made a snow angel. My son was almost speechless this morning! And he is now convinced that she IS real!
I think this made me more in the spirit than anything other than putting up my nativity (which my mom got me when I was 13, so it is VERY special to me and always makes me feel connected to my mom).
Anyway, on to food and exercise. Food, I have been eating it.
Exercise, hit and miss. I made it to the gym again on Friday for my last gym workout until DH gets home. And I increased weights and felt really good. I didn't work out over the weekend...
But today I got up and did my circuit the trainer developed for me - even adding reps to most of the exercises. I think I may need to get some 10lb weights before the 2 weeks is up...
Goals for this week:
2) Weights/Cardio 4 times this week (1 done!)
3) Eat 2 fruits and 3 veggies each day - today, 1 fruit down, 1 veggie in my lunch
4) Try to keep the house clean...
Here's to a great week! and Countdown to Christmas...
