So it's been one week since I started trying to live a healthier lifestyle (and drop some weight, too!).
Things I've learned:
-My eating is horrible. I eat way too much. I once hear that you should eat as though you are at your goal weight. Meaning, if I want to weigh 165, I should eat for a 165 lb woman. Now of course there are other factors (eating to meet my basic BMR needs, as well as figuring in exercise) but you get the gist. I should not be eating 2000 calories a day!
-In addition to above, my snacking is crazy. I graze all the time at work and it's not healthy food! There are always treats being paraded just out front my office door and it's so tough to say no. But I'm working on it =)
-Exercise is so important. Especially since I don't have my eating habits in a good place yet. I need to eat healthier portions and make wiser choices about what goes in my mouth.
The good news? I'm usually able to get in my 8 cups of water! Now if I only remembered to track it all the time...
AND I have a plan for this week.
My husband and I picked up some extra fruits and veggies for my snacks.
I used to eat a combination of these foods when I was pregnant (and battling gestational diabetes) for snacks and I hope they will help me pull in the reins on my grazing.
