On Second Thought......

Sunday, December 08, 2013

I recently posted a picture that I probably shouldn't have. It was giving to me in confidence and fear sharing this picture could jeopardize any chance of mending a friendship. I just got sick and tired of being blamed "the promiscuous one". I don't ask for the attention or dress "like a slut" for YOUR boyfriend....I dress like that for MY boyfriend!!!

You are unique! You should dress how you want to dress and not feel guilty for it. If it puts a friendship in jeopardy, my guess is that it was on shaky ground to begin with.

I agree people shouldn't be judged for what they wear, or how they look although I'm often strongly judged by those who profess to be open minded or non discriminatory. I think what should matter is what you say, be true to your word, and don't be two faced.

I almost thought the "other party" should know before they go judging me, should realize it's a two way street.....and never sent any types of pictures I wan't encouraged to send. I would hope my friendship could mend.....and we could continue sharing stories and life experiences. I don't think my "missing friend" is willing to risk current relationship to keep chumming it up with an "old friend". Kinda sad, but I get his reasoning.

Yikes! I hate the word "slut" in its derogatory sense. There's a SlutWalk out here every year that is to raise awareness and empower women, that regardless of what they wear they are never "asking" for anything with their clothes. I got into a serious debate with my roommate over it recently too. My stance is that in general (so not specific to women), people should be treated with respect regardless of how they look/dress, until their actions prove otherwise.

It was probably a good decision to remove the picture if it could hurt a relationship you care about. Sounds like you're having a rough time with this "missing friend". Sometimes relationships just take some time to mend.
