Looking ahead

Today we went to get our Christmas tree. Then Lavinia and I headed to town for her Christmas present Ė getting her ears pierced. I decided to do it early since she is spending Christmas with her father so she wonít be here to unwrap presents.

Today my eating was pretty typical of a Saturday which often means empty calories. We had pancakes for breakfast, sushi for lunch and fried clams for supper. I even had coffee with double sugar and cream and a glass of wine. I still was within my calorie range surprisingly.
The rest of the week has been very nutritious. I find it easier to be healthy when I eat the same thing day after day. I really am not sure why I am not tired of it, but I am not. I have a deal with myself to go to the gym every day I work except for Sundays when the gym opens later. So far itís been going well.

This next week I have bought eggs, mushrooms, peppers, and cheese for our breakfast omelet. I have bought some bread and extra lean turkey slices and low fat swiss cheese slices for sandwiches for my lunch. Lavinia prefers ribbon salad which is just the same veggies in the omelet and swiss cheese and turkey slices cut in ribbons and twirled around in the salad. I got greek yogurt, salsa, multigrain tostitos rounds, and dried mango slices for snacks. I will have a green smoothie for my supper and Lavinia will be eating with my parents this week. If I do get off early I have some multigrain pasta and some 2% evaporated milk to make an alfredo sauce.

As far as exercise, I will be going to the gym on Monday and Tuesday for my cardio workouts and do 30 mins on the treadmill and 15 on the stationary bike, on Wednesday and Thursday, I will be doing ST with Cheri unless I am by myself as my routine is an all body workout so will follow up with cardio. Cheri breaks it up between upper and lower so we can do the two days together. Friday is my day off so I will not be going to town, I will do yoga if I am sore (after Cheri workout), otherwise I will do an exercise DVD then and Saturday will be swimming with Lavinia.

I really canít believe it is December already. My contract at work is just about coming to an end and I will then go back to my old job. It had been fun but I can see the end and am quite prepared. I need to focus on getting into the school system and my old job is much less demanding. I am pretty satisfied with the past year and am looking onward to some new challenges in 2014. I need to re-evaluate what areas in my life have been neglected and what goals I need to work on.
