My first Santa Shuffle & first 'winter' race

Saturday, December 07, 2013

I did it! I ran the whole 5k of the race and felt good doing it. At the fastest I went 5:52 and my slowest, I went 6:16 so that averaged to 6:09!!!
I ran the whole 5k in 30:47 emoticon

All the slow training is really paying off!! If I keep this up, I'll have another good race at the end of December.

I think the race course helped though. It was on clean, dry roads. The sun was shining but there was a cold wind. Temp was -3 to -6 but felt like -12C with the wind.

My co-worker who power-walked it had an awesome race too. She completed the 5k in 40 minutes!!

Good job! I registered for the YMCA's Jingle Bell run on the 14th. I started running a 5k 1-2 times a week around my neighborhood for my cardio workout but it's been sub 0 weather here in Colorado all week so I've had to settle for the elliptical and treadmill. Running outside is so much better!

    Keep up the good work!
