WOW--it's been a long while!

Saturday, December 07, 2013

Hello to all my dearest SparkFriends! I'm SO sorry I've been MIA for these last 4 months! I can't believe it's been FOUR months since I blogged! emoticon

First off, my dear husband started a new job on September 23 after 10 months of unemployment which was the FIRST time in our marriage without a job. He is working as a Sales manager for a GREAT COMPANY! God was so, so faithful to meet our every need during the time off, and we give Him thanks for His abundant lovingkindness towards our family.

I've been following the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan [controlled carb diet, lower glycemic diet: www.trimhealthymama.com ; www.gwens-nest.com/natur
al-remedies/trim-healthy-m
ama-quick-start-guide/
] since June, and I've lost 10#'s, I have another 10# to lose before I'm back at goal weight. But the MOST significant thing I've learned in these last 6 months is that I have adrenal issues and that this is the trump card that **prevents** weight loss--the more I get healed, the more I'm seeing the scale cooperate! emoticon emoticon emoticon

My routine:

1. Natural vitamin C therapy called Lipo C

2. Epsom salt baths

3. Drinking Salt water 2x daily

4. Daily naps

5. 8-10 hours of sleep a night

6. Learning to deal with stress [daily prayer and time in the Word of God]

7. Natural calm at night before bed

8. Controlling my carbs--haven't had refined sugar [except hidden sources, I'm sure] for over 7 months. Eating a balance of good fats and good carbs has been very healing for my body.

9. Gentle exercising--no more than 1/2 hour daily, although I haven't done any lately because I'm dealing with neck and shoulder pain.

My kids are doing great. Nicholas graduates from UW Stout in May, Nate is going to the community college and is in the Army National Guard, Andrew is a Sophomore at UW Stout, Jonathan is at the community college and in the Army National Guard. Daniel is a JR., Stephen a Freshman, Mary is in 5th grade this year, and Sammy is in 2nd grade. My latest feat was processing and canning about 220 quarts of applesauce. emoticon

Okay, well that's about all in a nutshell. Love you all, and think of you SO, SO OFTEN!!!!!

Just curious...do you know if there is a THM team on Spark People? I can't seem to find one, but I see a few people are following THM. I would love to find a team with people using the THM book. Just started in late December, but I've lost 8 pounds!

I just found this blog Susan. I've had problems getting messages from Spark People even though all the settings are correct. Wierd.
A belated congratulations on your husband's new employment. Awesome. So awesome also to hear how well you are doing. Keep up the good work!!

I was so glad to see your latest update. I, too, have missed you. You are kind of a mentor to me. I have read many of the books you have mentioned as being important to you. I have prayed for you and am very thankful that your husband has found a job and for the good things in your life. Kind of cool that your youngest are in the same grades as mine (except I still have the twins coming along behind) and I have 3 in college at the moment. Thank you so much for sharing the things that are helping you and links to find out more about them. Oh, and I am envious--the apples in our area did very poorly this fall and I did not can even ONE can of applesauce!

It's good to read that DH is back to work, and you're both doing well.

Wow, girl! Your children are all over the place! Thanks Nate and Jonathan, "Thank you" for picking up, where I left off!" It takes a special breed of men and women, who would lay down their lives for their fellow man, and I appreciate you boys looking after us.

Get better from the neck and shoulder pain! No one should have to be in any kind of pain. If need be, see your doctor, as he might be able to help you out with some specific type of exercise.

If you need anything, just HOLLER!

Be blessed,

- Nancy Jean -
