so I promised self to check in here daily with a blog entry no matter how tiny but I forgot that life outside of cyberland does exist and does often take over. I think as long as I commit to logging 95% of the time, watching food 100% of the time, and blogging at least 50% of the time I should be go. Oh look how I'm changing my rules already haha!

So I'm doing great foodwise. I attribute this to the 85:15 rule of paleo that does allow me the odd "cheat". Down 9 lbs so very very happy about that. Exercising almost daily, I try to have 1 day out of 7 as a "rest" day.

I ran with a friend on Wednesday night. I think we are going to commit to a weekly Wednesday night run together. We go super easy so we can chat and catch up and I think it's important to continue to have such an easy run once a week. I am a slow runner to begin with but one of my challenges is not pushing myself. Most of my sports are by nature sports where you push hard. So when I run I feel like I should be pushing and out of breath the entire time. I KNOW this isn't the way it should be but it's hard to hold back.

Sooo - Wednesday I ran, a super slow easy 4k and yes there was a little walking involved. Thursday I played 2 ice hockey games. Friday was one hockey game. Today I will play sledge hockey.

This is my "newest" sport and is so, so, so much fun! It's a HUGE challenge but the fun far outweighs the frustration of not being able to use your legs, and the frustration of realizing how little upper body strength I have compared to the truly disabled peoples I play with. I admire my team mates so much for their abilities. Right now our "team" is mainly men, some disabled, some able bodied, and a few women. I am the only regular female but every so often another 1 or 2 show up. My husband has joined with me and he's really enjoying it to. Today my soon to be 15 year old son is going to come out and give it a try. I think it'd be so cool if we could all be on a team together! I hope he likes it. So far of the 3 of us I am the only one who is a full fledge team member with team jersey but hubby is close to qualifying now and hopefully son will follow suit :) My kids like to tell their friends that their mom is not a "regular mom" haha!

After my 1.5 hrs in the sledge I will get a little break then my tournament women's hockey team has a quarter final game in a local tournament in which we are currently participating. I love days like these when my exercise is more than taken care of and it's nothing but fun and socializing for me. You can't beat that. Everyone needs to find exercise that is FUN, not a chore.

So that'd be it folks. I'm off for now, will try to return tomorrow :)
