Avoiding the snow and cold.

Thursday, December 05, 2013

My dear Aunt Jean and Uncle Ed are doing something very wise this year! They live in Denver CO, where the temperature last night went below 3 degrees freezing! On Sunday they are headed to much warmer weather in Spain, Portugal and parts of North Africa! The temps. will be in the 50's to 60's. They are taking a cruise for 17 days there. They plan to come back to the States and celebrate Christmas with family in New York City.

Here in Pittsburgh, the weather is not that cold but wet. Tomorrow the temp. is suppose to drop and with snow, car travel will be complicated. I am planning to go with friends to a Christmas party in the evening. I hope all turns out well. It is just twenty days until Santa and 16 days until Winter officially begins!

Quite mild here in London. Glad to see like me you are counting the days to Christmas. 13 as I write this. Your aunt and uncle are lucky, birds that fly south. emoticon Hope you enjoyed your party.

What a great trip they are going on. The weather here is a bit below freezing. We have had a bit of snow but it is all melted now. Have a wonderful party and stay safe in travelling.

Sounds like a great trip they have planned!

We're cold here too....and snow and ice everywhere...it's not going to warm up anytime soon, so I'm staying bundled up as much as I can!

Enjoy the holiday party, we have one tonight as well! emoticon

We broke our old cold record and were the coldest in the state of Montana last night...it was MINUS 28 DEGREES!!! Wind chlll said to be between 40 to 45 below. Will head into record breaking territory again in a couple of hours...it's just -22 now at 7 p.m. We had a high today of -8!! No matter how much fun I make of my old gramma car, it started like a trooper even though I didn't plug it in last night!!

Hope you have a great time at your Christmas party!! We are definitely NOT going to drive to Great Falls for the Christmas Stroll. I thought for sure they would cancel and reschedule it but they have not. The HIGH tomorrow is supposed to be -12!!

Will do cards and some baking tonight and be content to stay inside warm and happy!

They are smart. Here in West Texas we are not used to these extremes. Yesterday 80 degress, tonight, in the 20's. As a transplanted Buckeye, life is good!!

It's supposed to be freezing here tonight too. Texas...It's crazy how it can be almost 90 one day and wind chill 35 the next. I wish I was in Spain.. just cause I love to go to other countries. emoticon
