Snack-Girl Recipe for Apple-pie tasting dessert!

Thursday, December 05, 2013

Add other things to this recipe like raisins or almond slices to make it more interesting. Cardamom and nutmeg would make great additions, too. Play with it and let me know how it goes.

Apple Pie Makeover Recipe

(serves 2)
1 apple
1 graham cracker
1/4 lemon
cinnamon to taste
maple syrup or honey to taste

Chop apple and place in microwave proof bowl. Crumble one graham cracker (all 4 sections) and squeeze lemon into bowl. Add at least 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon (or more if you love cinnamon). Microwave for 2 minutes. Let cool for a couple minutes and taste. Add sweeteners if needed. www.snack-girl.com/snack

Yum! I would use Brown Sugar Splanda instead of the honey/maple syrup - but it sounds good. I think I also have lower fat graham crackers to use in the recipe.

I do something similar but I use 1/4 cup of raw oatmeal instead of the graham cracker. Now you have made me hungry. I may have to have this for my snack tonight.

This is how my grandmother always made apple crisp! But with ground crumbs on top of the apples.
