What Old Lady?

Thursday, December 05, 2013

I was so inspired by the over 70 ladies who are living life to the fullest. (See the thread on Beauty Over 50 called "Don't Dress Your Age.")
This week, I purchased some Converse style tennis shoes in black with pink laces, lime green and turquoise. I can wear them with some black skinny slacks that I have and jeans, of course.
I have always pretty much marched to the beat of my own drum, but they inspired me to really get healthier to accomplish what I dream of in life.
I still have dreams, do you?
I want to be active throughout my life AND stylish!
No "old lady" looks for me! ... and I won't be acting like one, either!
I might add that I am a ways from 70... but preparing now for 70, 80, hopefully 90...

YAY!! I LOVE THAT!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I recently purchased some skinny jeans at the mall too and enjoy wearing them immensely. I always see nicely dressed mannequins when mall walking and say "hey, I want to dress nice and stylish too..why not?" Of course I am not into "goth" but I do like the skinny jeans and boots. Oh, and I have some tennis shoes like similar to what you mentioned too. Way to go Linda!! Groovy!!

"When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple." I've been practicing to be an outrageous old woman for the last thirty years. I think I've just about made it.

Go for it! I do my own thing also. I am not a flashy dresser but I have my own style. At my home there was this lady who always dressed to the hilt. She was 80 and talking about a dress store. Her statement was" I won't shop there, all they have is old ladies dresses"!

    Absolutely love it!

I'll have to give it to my mom . . . . she's 83 but still 15 at heart.... well, maybe 18. She rarely sits down, always dresses as though she's expecting company.

After dad died in 08, we kept her moving . . . she finally started getting out and about - going places and doing things she'd NEVER done before . . . . like dancing. In public! She's become a social butterfly.

I wish things were different. But they're not. But I'm thankful for the good memories that I have of her.
