Dec. 4 Advent

Wednesday, December 04, 2013

We always place an empty manger by the Christmas tree at our church and this picture was shared by dear friend who follows same tradition in their home then places a baby doll in the manger on Christmas day. We have one set that has the movable characters and the manger remains empty till the family Christmas Eve reading of the Bible story and then the tiny baby goes in the manger.

We can only pray that others catch on to the REAL Christmas story. A manger under the Christmas tree is a great start !!!

emoticon - Actually I moved into my current home in June 1997. That Christmas I put up the Nativity on our mantel and it never came down. I just couldn't put Jesus back in a box. But every Advent I do remove baby Jesus until Christmas. Then he remains there until the next Advent. So I always know He is Near!! emoticon
