I've been meaning to post this for a few days now, no time like the present!

I consider this a emoticon moment and a milestone emoticon

I have been working to eliminate processed foods, focusing on eating fruits, veggies and whole grains. With that said I am not and do not plan to be 100% whole foods, I have the occasional treat, or even restaurant meal.

About a week ago while at work, I got the munchies but I couldn't figure out what I was craving. It has been awhile since I felt such a craving and I set out to satisfy it. I had popcorn from our break room which is not popped in a healthful way but the craving remained so I had some chocolate the first and only Halloween candy I ate this year. My craving continued, but I realized I had already had two things to try to crush that craving and that I wasn't hungry so I would just ride it out without eating more.

Well you know that craving did finally go away later that day when at supper, I had some broccoli. The only conclusion I could come to was that my body was telling me I needed a vitamin or mineral that broccoli would provide. I have heard that the more you eliminate processed foods the more your body would crave "real" foods. I guess I didn't expect the craving to be that intense.

emoticon Is that broccoli?

This has happened to me before. Funny how the body works. It gets demanding when it comes to nutrients!
