This is something that affects people across the globe. We can do our bit and encourage others to buy in our home country. With greater expenses every year it is EASY to buy cheap and getting harder and harder to source locally made.

Outsourcing jobs has been going on for a long long time, but its now caught up. I do not live in America, I live in Canada and a lot of our jobs are outsourced to American companies ... go figure.

When I visited the US of A a couple of years ago I was in Washington DC and was frantically trying to find something "made in America" - there were no souvenirs, everything was made in China, very very disappointing. Now don't get me wrong, they gotta live too, but when I visit a country I want something made in that country - even your food is outsourced - Mexico, Uriquay, etc.

I recently looked for a winter coat made in Canada - NOPE never found it, because the big name fashion designers have their factories in CHINA and then bring the product back here and put a big old price tag on it. So what now, how do I get a coat made in Canada with good old Canadian clothe/fabric... get my point? It will take more then this .... but its a good start !! emoticon

    Done.

As a native of Pittsburgh I am intimately familiar with what happens when jobs go overseas. It's taken us 40 years to come back. If you ever wonder why there even IS a Steeler Nation it's because so many people had to leave their home town in order to find work.
