Once again, I stick my head in to say hey!
I have to be honest, I haven't been working out much. I tried to really get back into it a month ago and I lasted one day. Not because I quit, but because I hurt my back so badly during a workout that I have basically been off and on with bed rest for about a month since it happened. Today is actually the first day that I've felt okay enough to walk even since and I'm super grateful for that.
For awhile, I've had the condition of sciatica (with a nice mixture of piriformis syndrome) and only recently has it been so debilitating that I can barely walk sometimes. I had to go to the ER two weekends ago because my legs would just shake if I needed to stand. Sooo basically, that has taken away my workouts altogether. I was doing squats with weight when my injury happened, which is my fault partially because I know how my back is and that wasn't a smart choice. By the way, has anyone worked out with this kind of problem (intense pains going down the leg from the lower back?) If so, what stretches really worked for you? I'm doing some daily as of today and too many options aren't enough.
Going forward, I'm gonna just take it slow with things like walking (MAYBE running, which I hate but oh well) and focusing more on cardio. I move in 19 days, which is crazy, but my apartment will have a gym and I will definitely use it because I'm feeling extra soft recently and I also want to be in shape for graduation. Yes yes, graduation in May is my new goal. Plus, nothing like gorging on Thanksgiving to make you feel like human waste lol. And at least now I don't have to walk a mile across campus in the cold (or wait in the cold for the bus) to get to the gym. That will eliminate my excuses. Trader Joe's is also the closest grocery store where I will be living, so even better!
In other news, I've decided that my approach has been off and that's really what has kept me from experiencing the same success as I did the first time I lost a lot of weight on here. I will see myself eat one bad thing and ruin my day with other bad things because I already ruined it, in my eyes. But that's just what the slippery slope is made of - one bad decision after another. In the same thread, I don't need to eat poorly because I can't quite work out at the moment. On the contrary, I should eat as healthily as possible because that's the only way for me to lose weight right now.
That's basically it! The next two weeks will consist of my last papers and tests to make it through and I will be moving to Cali soon after. Time is flying, ahhh make it stop.
