The benefits of a multi course "French"style Thanksgiving

Monday, December 02, 2013

First of all, I can take no credit for this..........out of town until Wednesday night. But DH planned, purchased, prepped and served with the help of his mom and our grown daughters.

The meal started with salad and tiny bites of tasty treats
followed by the main courses served to us
followed by cheeses and fruit
followed by dessert

The best thing was that the meal took 3 hours. We ate slowly, just enough, and the conversation was fun, funny, and sweet.

When we got up everyone was filled, not with food, but with fellowship. Don't get me wrong, we all had enough but not too much to eat. Instead of getting up SO STUFFED that we could hardly breathe, we felt good enough to walk, visit more, clean up, etc.

I'm thinking I need to remember this............
