Technical Problems, Weight and Plans

Monday, December 02, 2013

Lakeland Runners Club is having technical problems getting the photos of our Saturday Christina 5K on the web. They did post 10 start pictures, but I'm totally obscured by someone in the foreground. However, my niece and nephew are clearly visible. Count from the right and they are the 3rd and 4th people, kind of on far side. She has on a grey shirt and he is wearing black:

So I'm dragging out the reporting of this 5K for many days. Thanks for sticking with me, SparkFriends.

I am glad to report I'm down 1.8 pounds from 2 days ago and now have reclaimed my middle 2 on the scale. Still 3.6 pounds over my favorite weight of 126. I have my ticker set for 129 as I just can't stand to see me listed as pounds overweight; .6 is bad enough. In my experience, success begets success and sometimes the opposite is true, too. Oh, the silly mind games I play! I entered the At Goal and Maintaining .... Team's National Bird Day Challenge with a center weight of 127.5. I was glad to post today timely and within range, although my level of fluctuation from the center weight puts me at the bottom of the list. These challenges are good for me, but I doubt I would ever win the competition to hold to the center weight.

This eve my sister, niece and nephew are coming to dinner and we will plan for the Jingle Bell races on Dec. 14th. My hubby has decided he wants to do the one mile dog walk at 9:15am (which I'm really happy and excited about); now do I want to do the 10K at 7:15 or the 5K at 8:15?? I would enjoy the 6 mile run, but feel some pressure to try to break an hour. My first 10K was in 1 hour 4 minutes and my second was three minutes faster. Not sure I'm up for the speed over that distance. Might try anyway. Will decide this evening .

Have a healthy, happy, active day!!

Sweet Marsha, to thine own self be true...and follow what your body tell you to. I play mind games too but find with my "age" I am far more forgiving and less "driven"...but my hubby has worked on me a long time to do this!

God Bless your day no matter what you decide and I am thrilled that hubby is doing the dog walk...I know you said how you hoped for that! He's a good man!

That is awesome hubby wants to get into it!! Will love to see all the doggy walk photos!! Looking forward to seeing more clearer photos of your niece and nephew and of you.
You are at your most animated when you are talking about your races. Its so in your blood! I can see you tackling this upcoming 10 km race with a better time in an achievable goal (you already find your practise runs too slow with your group or did I read that wrong)! Like ONEKIDMON said in your last race, you were like a racehorse chomping at the bit to get moving. You feel the need for speed ;)

You must be really little we can't see you. emoticon Do not worry about tomorrow, just enjoy the day. "You have come a long way baby" sometimes we forget just how far.

Will keep checking for the pictures. Enjoy the week.

We love to see photos of people we know! Drag it out as long as it takes. I'll still be lurking to see.

I play the same mind games with the ticker. Mine is set to 127, but I want to be around 125. I need that mental cushion or I'm constantly feeling overweight close to goal. As it is, I have to lose some pounds from leftovers. Some day, I'll send them ALL home with others, but my DH would be sad if I did. He needs to eat them faster, as I don't have enough self control with favorite, seasonally limited foods calling me from the refrigerator.
